During the summer of 2002 I traveled in China during more than two months. It was my second summer in China and I wanted to move away from the coast and reach the most western provinces: Gansu , Qinhai and Xinjiang. To get there by land from the Pacific coast , on e must travel through several thousands kilometers. The first p ictures correspond to the stops that I did in my way to the west. After come those of the Tibetan area of Gansu , the Gobi desert, and finally, the biggest part, taken during more than one month in different points of the Uygur autonomous region of Xinjiang. In spite of being my first "serious" photographic experience the se photos are still some of my favorite.
