During the summer of 2002 I traveled in China during more than two months. It was my second summer in China and I wanted to move away from the coast and reach the most western provinces: Gansu , Qinhai and Xinjiang. To get there by land from the Pacific coast , on e must travel through several thousands kilometers.

The first p ictures correspond to the stops that I did in my way to the west. After come those of the Tibetan area of Gansu , the Gobi desert, and finally, the biggest part, taken during more than one month in different points of the Uygur autonomous region of Xinjiang.
